the Poetry of Life – #012

I find some quiet
Peaceful rest
And sit to talk
With You at last.
You were beside me
Throughout my day,
But I was too busy
To stop and pray.
I failed to make
A way for You
To be the center
Of all I would do.
And so now I sit
In silent sorrow,
And pray it’ll be
Different tomorrow.

the Poetry of Life – #010

I need to sleep,
It’s getting late.
Just one more line -
My brain can’t wait
Until tomorrow
Or I might forget.
If I stop now,
It’ll be gone, I bet
These thoughts that
Run inside my head
Every time I’m meant
To be in my bed.

Tall and graceful now you standDSC_0028
Where once you barely reached my hand
I can’t believe how fast you’ve grown
Now ready for life on your own
Off to college soon you’ll go
After this dress and big grad show
Then to the work you want to do
And your own place with all things new
Another day for you too soon will come
When your heart you give to another one
Although it’s moving for me too fast
Our “mom and daughter” I know will last
I love you dearly at every age
You’re a beautiful girl at every stage.

Baby whispersP5160120
Can you hear
How much I love you?
Don’t ever fear.

Baby kisses
Can you feel
How much I love you?
It’s very real.

Baby snuggles
Can you smell
How much I love you?
I’m sure you can tell.

Baby giggles
Can you see
How much I love you?
Always believe.

p4090046Rain, rain
What do I say?
You make things grow
You’re great, that way.
And my kids like to jump
In every puddle
Even if it puts
Their jeans in a muddle.
I must confess, though
That as for me
I’d rather have sun
And leave water to the sea.
But if you must come
A day or two is fine -
If that’s all you last,
I really don’t mind.
It’s the longer monsoons
Where my yard you flood,
And it just doesn’t look good
With all of that mud.
I can surely do
Without all that muck,
So I gotta tell you
That sometimes you suck.

I wonder aboutdsc_2493
My wonder boy
I wonder if
He’ll find true joy.
I wonder what
He’ll grow to be
I wonder if
He’ll still love me.
I wonder how
He’ll do in life
I wonder who
Will be his wife.
I wonder if
He’ll wonder too
About his own
Baby in blue.
